Ground Transportation and Buses from Denver International Airport, DIA.
RTD is the name of the public transportation system in Denver. The RTD system hooks up directly to the airport, and is one of several methods people use to avoid a $100 cab ride. Here you will find buses the Tech Center, Downtown, and other cities like; Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Aspen, Vail, Steamboat Springs, Frisco, Dillon, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, and a host of other locations. Many of these bus serviced towns do not require a car, with adequate taxi service to facilitate your visit.
RTD has been recognized nationwide as one of the top public transportation systems in the United States. Not only does the fleet include buses that will pick up the elderly at their homes, but normal bus routes are standard as well. In addition, RTD operates a special fleet of larger buses for express service to and from DIA called Skyride. Skyride buses operate 365 days a year, and have various stops, including Downtown Denver and many suburban Park and Ride locations. These SkyRide busses cost just $5 and you pay cash to the driver for ease. Just get some change with that drink before your flight.
Generally, travelers want THE AF BUS TO GET DOWNTOWN!
Typically, one will catch the Skyride bus, ride downtown to the Central Bus Station, 2 blocks South of the train station. Next you catch the lightrail main hub or hail a taxi. I suggest you catch a cheap cab with your luggage. Once you get to your hotel downtown, use cabs, taxis, light rail or buses to get where you need to go.
To grab a taxi, come out of the station, and hail a $10 cab on the street.
