Claiming your bags at Denver International Airport can seem a daunting task for the uninitiated. However, the baggage system at DIA is very well thought out, easy to navigate, well, laid out, and simple. You just don't get all the information up front, you get to know what you need as you go. Relax, deboard your airplane, and then proceed to the trains at the center of the concourse on which you landed. Now ride those trains to the Main Terminal. Once there Ride the Escalators to the top and walk to the center of the room. The fountain here is pretty amazing, and the building itself is amazing.
All you have to do now is find the signs, one of 4 directions, that point for your airline. Then as you move the direction the sign points you, look for the sign board you see above. Here, at the Arriving Flight and Baggage Carousel Monitors you can determine which individual carousel you need. By the time you find the baggage carousel you need, your bags will probably be popping out the sides. The golf clubs, skis, and snowboards are returned on the special carousel to the side of the baggage claim area. If you need to aquire odd shaped items, those will be at the end of the ski/golf/snowboard carousels. The Baggage Carousels look like this.
